Defected Records welcomes Sunderland-born DJ and producer L.P. Rhythm for his long-awaited label debut — a high-energy re-imagining of Eliza Rose x The Trip’s breakout hit ‘Weekend’.
Originally released in July 2025, ‘Weekend’ became one of the defining tracks of the summer, pairing Eliza Rose’s playful, soulful vocal style with The Trip’s unmistakable underground groove. The record’s success was fuelled by a viral DJ Mag HQ set in London and heavy support across UK radio — including Danny Howard’s First Play, Sarah Story’s Future Find, and Arielle Free’s Big Whopper on BBC Radio 1.
Having amassed nearly three million streams in just a few months, the track now receives a fresh injection of energy from L.P. Rhythm, one of the key figures driving the UK’s 90s house revival. His remix amplifies the record’s nostalgic bounce with modern club-ready drums and a hypnotic bassline, marking his signature blend of classic house and contemporary groove.
With this release, Defected continues its mission to champion the next generation of British producers redefining the sound of modern house.
