Two of the Netherlands’ biggest electronic music icons, Martin Garrix and Armin van Buuren, have finally teamed up for their first-ever collaboration — Sleepless Nights — released via Armada Music and featuring the captivating vocals of Libby Whitehouse.
Although the two have been friends for years, this marks the first time they’ve merged their signature sounds. Garrix’s sleek, modern production meets Armin’s trance DNA, resulting in a track that channels the restless energy of late-night dance floors and the euphoric rush of dancing until sunrise.
The single made its live debut during their back-to-back sets at Ultra Miami earlier this year. Since then, it has become a staple in both of their solo shows and joint performances at major festivals including EDC Las Vegas, Cape Town, and Johannesburg. Both Garrix and Armin hold the joint record for most wins in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll, topping the list five times each.
Martin Garrix
Garrix has been one of the youngest and most successful figures in global dance music since his breakout hit Animals in 2013. In recent months, he made history as the first artist to perform three nights at the iconic L.A State Historic Park, selling out 40,000 tickets across two shows and adding a third due to overwhelming demand. His schedule has also included four nights in Las Vegas (OMNIA, TAO Beach Club, EDC) and sold-out shows at Red Rocks Amphitheater. This year alone, he has released Peace of Mind with Citadelle, MAD with Lauv, and two collaborations with Arijit Singh — Angels for Each Other and Weightless.
Armin van Buuren
A global trance ambassador for more than three decades, Armin launched 2025 with his immersive Pillars of Creation live concept in the desert dunes of Ras Al Khaimah. He has hosted A State of Trance festivals in Rotterdam and London this year, with a debut edition in Mexico coming in November. This summer, his Ushuaïa Ibiza residency opened with a rare six-hour set, followed by weekly shows featuring guests like Cosmic Gate and Vini Vici. In June, he released his ninth studio album Breathe — a 51-track journey exploring mental health, personal growth, and creative freedom — alongside collaborations with Bon Jovi, JOA, Sam Gray, and Pendulum’s Rob Swire.
Why It Matters
Sleepless Nights is more than just a collaboration — it’s a meeting of two titans, blending decades of combined experience and global influence into a single track that’s already making waves across the festival circuit. With its perfect balance of Garrix’s big-room energy and Armin’s melodic trance touch, this release feels destined to become one of the defining dance anthems of the year.
