Carmine Conte, co-founder of the iconic label Afterlife and one-half of the globally renowned duo Tale of Us, returns with a powerful new solo release under his alias MRAK. Titled Smoke, the three-track EP is set for release on July 25, and marks a significant evolution in MRAK’s distinct artistic journey.
Following the success of his immersive live shows and his debut album Manifesto, Smoke continues to define MRAK as more than just a musical alter ego. It is a vehicle for exploring deeper emotional and conceptual territories — blending electronic sound design with cinematic elements, storytelling, and visual art.
The EP includes:
-
Smoke – the title track, setting the tone with melancholic atmospheres and textured layering.
-
Nobody – a haunting yet uplifting piece that reflects introspection and longing.
-
All Of The Lights – closing the release with grandeur, this track balances orchestral elegance with Afterlife’s signature ethereal techno.
What sets MRAK apart is his ability to translate emotion into sound in a way that feels both intimate and expansive. Smoke is not just a club release — it’s an experience meant to be absorbed on many levels, from headphones to festival stages.
With Smoke, MRAK reaffirms Afterlife’s evolving identity as a platform that transcends dance music, continuing its mission to blur the lines between art, music, and human emotion.
Stay tuned — Yalla Techno will be among the first to cover the release on July 25.
