German electronic icon Paul Kalkbrenner has released “QUE CE SOIT CLAIR”, the second single from his upcoming album THE ESSENCE, in collaboration with Belgian superstar Stromae. The two artists share a history going back to 2009, when Kalkbrenner remixed Stromae’s breakout hit “Te Quiero”.
The track has quickly become a fan favorite across festivals and club sets, blending pounding four-to-the-floor kicks, pulsating synths, and Stromae’s intense spoken-word vocals. Its title translates to “Just to be clear” — a love without borders or categories.
A surreal new video, directed by Kelzang Ravach of Temple Caché, captures the spirit of Berlin nightlife through Stromae’s eyes. Shot in a dreamlike parallel Berlin, the film immerses viewers in a chaotic party atmosphere, blurring the line between reality and abstraction.
Kalkbrenner, who rose to global fame with Berlin Calling and the anthem “Sky & Sand”, describes THE ESSENCE as his most complete work to date:
“It’s about the essential. I consider it my best. Not a single filler moment.”
With eight albums, arena tours, and historic performances behind him, Kalkbrenner continues to redefine electronic music — and “QUE CE SOIT CLAIR” marks another milestone in his career.
