According to figures published by Billboard Boxscore, the Australian trio generated approximately $158 million in ticket revenue. Furthermore, they performed for 1.7 million fans during a global run of 115 shows.
The result makes Inhale / Exhale the first electronic music tour to cross the $100 million mark and the first in the category to sell more than one million tickets.
From Clubs to Sold-Out Stadiums
The achievement represents a remarkable expansion for Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt.
When RÜFÜS DU SOL first performed in Toronto in 2014, the group appeared at a club with a capacity of around 350 people. Twelve years later, they concluded their record-breaking tour at the city’s Rogers Centre on September 5, 2026. During this performance, the RÜFÜS DU SOL world tour record was further solidified in North America.
The sold-out final concert welcomed approximately 43,500 fans and reportedly generated close to $5 million on its own.
Across the tour, RÜFÜS DU SOL performed 54 shows in the United States and Canada, 21 in Europe, 13 in Oceania and ten in Latin America. The concluding North American section was the most commercially successful. It sold 693,000 tickets and grossed $71.8 million across 31 reported dates. That makes RÜFÜS DU SOL both the highest-grossing and best-selling electronic act in Boxscore’s recorded touring history. Furthermore, the RÜFÜS DU SOL world tour record is now recognized as a landmark achievement within the electronic genre.
For comparison, Illenium and ODESZA’s reported career grosses stand at $88.3 million and $75.4 million respectively. Meanwhile, Tiësto follows the Australian trio in career ticket sales with around 1.3 million.
‘Inhale / Exhale’ Reaches Beyond the Album
The tour took its name from RÜFÜS DU SOL’s fifth studio album, Inhale / Exhale. This album arrived in October 2024 and received a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album.
Its success demonstrates how the group’s combination of electronic production, live instrumentation and emotionally driven songwriting has expanded beyond the traditional club and festival circuit.
Four consecutive sold-out concerts at Madison Square Garden and large-scale dates at venues including Colorado’s Folsom Field illustrated that growth. This was before the stadium finale in Toronto.
The numbers behind Inhale / Exhale establish a new commercial target for electronic touring. More importantly, they show that a live electronic act can now compete at the same box-office level as the world’s leading stadium artists.
