Vintage Culture has cancelled planned appearances in Mykonos and at Burning Man, announcing that he will step away from touring for the week to rest and recover after an intense run of international shows.
The Brazilian DJ and producer, whose real name is Lukas Ruiz, shared the decision with his followers. Notably, this update came after completing more than 25 performances across three continents in the past month. In fact, the news that Vintage Culture cancels shows due to health concerns is not new.
“My body is telling me it needs a pause,” he wrote, explaining that taking time to recover was the responsible decision.

A Short Break After an Intense Touring Schedule
Vintage Culture’s statement described a short period of rest rather than an indefinite break from music. Sometimes, Vintage Culture cancels shows to focus on wellness.
After performing more than 25 shows in a single month, the house music star confirmed that he would spend the week at home resting and recovering.
The artist did not disclose a specific medical condition. Additionally, no wider list of cancelled dates had been announced at the time of publication, so it was not confirmed whether Vintage Culture cancels shows beyond the initial pause.
Fans are therefore advised to follow Vintage Culture and the relevant event organisers. This is important for any further updates regarding his upcoming schedule. For fans, it’s always disappointing when Vintage Culture cancels shows, but health must come first.
Why Missing Burning Man Was So Difficult
Withdrawing from Burning Man was an especially difficult decision for Vintage Culture, who revealed that the gathering has been part of his life for more than a decade and remains one of his favourite places in the world.
The 2026 edition of Burning Man is taking place in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert from August 30 to September 7.
Vintage Culture also apologised to everyone who had expected to see him perform in Mykonos and on the playa. However, he made it clear that he intends to return to the dancefloor after recovering.
His decision offers a rare public look at the physical demands placed on internationally touring DJs during the peak summer season. This is particularly true when artists are travelling between continents and performing almost every day.
What Happens Next?
At the time of publication, Vintage Culture had not announced a broader cancellation schedule or confirmed an exact date for his return beyond the planned week of rest.
For now, his message is simple: the music will continue, but this week is for recovery.
