Dom Dolla has reached a defining milestone in his career. This came after performing to 60,000 fans at a sold-out Marvel Stadium in Melbourne.
The Australian DJ and producer presented the exclusive hometown show on Thursday, September 24. He transformed one of Melbourne’s biggest sporting venues into a stadium-scale electronic music experience.
According to The Guardian, the concert was the largest solo electronic dance music show staged in Australian history. The achievement provides another clear indication that headline electronic artists can now attract audiences. Traditionally, these audiences were associated with major pop and rock tours.
A New Stadium Production Premieres in Melbourne
Presented by Untitled Group and Frontier Touring, the event marked the world premiere of a new Dom Dolla stadium production. This show was created specifically for Marvel Stadium.
The show combined large-scale video screens, lasers, pyrotechnics and lighting architecture. In addition, it featured a set with Dom Dolla’s established releases and previously unheard music.
Clementine Douglas made a surprise appearance for “Miracle Maker.” Meanwhile, the wider lineup included Chicago house pioneer Green Velvet, Australian producer Torren Foot and a back-to-back performance from RONA. and DJ JNETT.
The result was designed to operate beyond the format of a conventional DJ set. Instead, the production treated the entire venue as what Dom Dolla described as the country’s biggest nightclub for the evening.
From Melbourne Clubs to 60,000 Fans
The performance carried additional significance as a hometown return for Dominic Matheson. He developed his career within Melbourne’s electronic music scene before becoming an international headliner.
His rise has accelerated dramatically over the past several years. Dom Dolla’s 2024 Australian tour sold approximately 170,000 tickets, while his international expansion included two sold-out Madison Square Garden concerts in 2025.
He then staged his first Australian stadium headline performance at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium in December 2025. The Marvel Stadium production expanded that concept to an audience of 60,000. As a result, it continued electronic music’s move into major stadium concerts.
Frontier Touring states that Dom Dolla has now generated more than 1.5 billion global streams. His 2026 activity has also included “Don’t Worry Baby” with Tiga, a new interpretation of Puretone’s “Addicted to Bass” and an official remix of KETTAMA’s “Comes & Goes.”
Electronic Music Moves Deeper Into Stadium Culture
The scale of the Melbourne show reflects a wider commercial shift within electronic music.
Australian acts including RÜFÜS DU SOL, Flume, Fisher and Dom Dolla have developed audiences capable of supporting major international tours. Australia is now reportedly the world’s third-largest market for electronic music streaming, behind the United States and Germany.
While festivals remain central to dance music, Dom Dolla’s achievement is particularly notable. This is because 60,000 fans purchased tickets for a standalone headline event rather than a multi-artist festival.
His Marvel Stadium homecoming therefore represents more than a personal career milestone. It demonstrates electronic music moving into larger venues, from clubs and festival stages into the world’s largest traditional concert venues.
For Dom Dolla, the journey from Melbourne’s local club circuit to a sold-out hometown stadium has established a new benchmark for the next generation of Australian electronic artists.
