MDLBEAST Cancels Soundstorm 2026 and Confirms Festival’s Return in 2027

MDLBEAST has cancelled the 2026 edition of Soundstorm. The company confirmed that its flagship Riyadh festival will not take place this December as originally planned. Importantly, the MDLBEAST Soundstorm brand will focus its efforts elsewhere for now.

Soundstorm 2026 was scheduled for December 3 and 4 at the Banban festival site. Tickets were already available before the cancellation was announced. This MDLBEAST event—Soundstorm—would have represented the seventh edition of one of the Middle East’s largest music festivals.

MDLBEAST has not provided a specific reason for the decision but says its focus will now move towards bringing Soundstorm back in 2027.

Soundstorm Will Not Take Place in December

MDLBEAST confirmed the cancellation through Soundstorm’s official social-media channels and in communication sent to ticket holders. Ultimately, MDLBEAST Soundstorm fans will have to wait until next year for more news.

“We know we said we’d see you at Soundstorm this year, so this is not the update we wanted to share,” the organiser explained in its announcement.

The statement added that the team would redirect its excitement and energy towards the 2027 edition, promising that the MDLBEAST flagship event, Soundstorm, would return “better and stronger.”

No replacement dates have been announced, and the organisers have not yet revealed when tickets or information for Soundstorm 2027 will become available. As soon as MDLBEAST Soundstorm news is released, fans will be notified.

Fans who purchased tickets should monitor the email address connected to their booking and the official NOFOMO ticketing platform. NOFOMO lists its customer-support email as contact@nofomo.com. It also provides telephone and WhatsApp assistance through its website.

One of the Region’s Largest Festivals

Launched in 2019, Soundstorm has developed into a major fixture within Saudi Arabia’s expanding entertainment calendar. It is also prominent in the wider world of electronic music festivals. Many fans now recognize MDLBEAST Soundstorm as a flagship event each winter.

The festival combines electronic music with international pop, hip-hop and regional performers across a large multi-stage site outside Riyadh. Previous editions have welcomed artists including Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Swedish House Mafia, Anyma, Armin van Buuren, Post Malone, Cardi B and DJ Snake. Notably, MDLBEAST’s Soundstorm has set a new standard for music production in the region.

According to MDLBEAST, the 2025 edition featured more than 250 artists across 14 stages. The scale of its production and international bookings has made Soundstorm one of the most visible music events operating in the Middle East. It attracts many of the names featured in Yalla Techno’s guide to the top DJs on Spotify in 2026. Among regional festivals, MDLBEAST Soundstorm is widely celebrated.

The cancellation therefore removes an important December destination from the regional festival calendar, affecting fans, touring artists and professionals who had expected to travel to Riyadh.

What Happens Next for MDLBEAST?

Although Soundstorm will not take place this year, MDLBEAST continues to operate other events and music initiatives in Saudi Arabia. Anticipation remains for what MDLBEAST Soundstorm might bring in 2027.

The company has directed fans towards its official website and NOFOMO application for updates on its remaining programme. Its wider activities include club events, artist showcases, the XP Music Futures conference and projects supporting the development of Saudi and regional music talent.

For now, no lineup or exact dates have been confirmed for the 2027 return. Even so, speculation about the next MDLBEAST Soundstorm lineup is already building.

Soundstorm’s planned comeback will be closely watched across the regional electronic music industry. After becoming a symbol of Saudi Arabia’s rapidly growing live-music sector, its next edition will face significant expectations when the festival returns to Banban.
